What is a Colonic?
At the beginning of the colonic, we insert an instrument rectally. This instrument is
stainless steel and is thoroughly sterilized after each colonic. After the colonic, the
instrument is placed into a special coded bag, then placed in the sterilizer. The color
code on the bag registers a certain color when sterilization has occurred for the proper
amount of time and at the appropriate heat level.
Before insertion, the instrument is lubricated with a sterile lubricant. Insertion feels very
comfortable because of the lubrication and because of the small size of the instrument.
After insertion, we attach two hoses to the instrument, one for the water source to
flow into the bowel by gravity, the other one to allow water and waste to flow from
the body directly into the plumbing system. Therefore, there is no odor while you while
you have your colonic.
The method that we use utilizes natural forces and your body’s energies. There is no
pain or discomfort because your body decides when to release the water, unlike an
enema where you have to hold a lot of water.
